Things people ask before they sign up.

Doesn't Xero already back up my data? +
Xero protects the platform from infrastructure failure — its own servers, its own outages. But Xero's terms make customer-side backup your responsibility. A staff mistake, a deletion, a compromised login or a closed subscription can still lose your records. CINDA is the independent copy that survives any of those.
How is this different from exporting CSVs? +
A CSV export is a flat snapshot of one report at one moment. CINDA captures the entire structured Xero file — every contact, line item, attachment, journal and audit-trail event — and indexes it across daily snapshots so you can find any record on any day and restore it back to Xero.
Can CINDA change anything in my Xero file? +
No. The OAuth connection is read-only. CINDA can read your records to back them up, but it cannot write, edit, or delete anything in Xero. Restores happen by exporting from CINDA and re-importing into Xero, with your explicit action.
Where is my data stored? +
You choose. CINDA writes encrypted snapshots to whichever storage target you connect — your own local infrastructure (NAS, SAN, on-prem server), your own private cloud (your AWS, Azure or GCP tenancy), or our managed CINDA private cloud (Australian-sovereign storage in Sydney, available as a paid add-on). In every case the data is AES-256 encrypted with keys you can hold yourself.
What does it cost? +
CINDA software licences start at $120 per month per Xero organisation for practices, or $150 per month for a single business, billed annually. Storage is your choice — if you use your own infrastructure or your own cloud bucket, there is no additional CINDA charge. Managed hosting on the CINDA private cloud is priced on application.
